Collection: Views from the Lineup

Do you ever look up at the clouds from the water and think, this would be a beautiful painting? I do, often.

When I'm surfing, I'm half waiting for waves, half staring at the sky. Sunset clouds always get me. That specific light you only really notice when you're sitting still on a board, facing the horizon, with nothing to do but wait. So I finally started painting them, instead of just missing sets because I was too busy looking up.

This series is a record of those distractions. Every piece comes from a real evening in the lineup, the color just before dark, the shape of a cloud that made me pause.
